MSW Sorting Center: Enhancing Recyclable Waste Management
Established in 2019, the MSW Sorting Center in the HaiSHU District efficiently manages recyclable waste through a highly precise intelligent logistics system. This system rapidly transports finely sorted recyclable materials from their source to the regional sorting center. Here, they undergo detailed processing before being sold to end-use factories, effectively addressing the issue of where recyclable materials come from and where they go.
The center is capable of sorting seven major categories of recyclables: waste paper, plastic, fabric, metal, glass, electronics, and bulky waste, with a daily sorting capacity of approximately 70 tons. The intelligent sorting line, which combines mechanical intelligent sorting with manual intervention and automatic packaging, has improved sorting efficiency by about 50% compared to previous manual methods.
Building on the foundation of the MSW Waste Sorting CenterWaste Sorting Center, Ningbo has pioneered a "waste classification + resource recovery" dual-network integration model. This innovative approach encourages private investment and achieves a "three-benefits" goal: residents gain rewards, enterprises find markets, and the government reduces costs. This model further motivates citizens to participate in waste classification, enhances the effectiveness of recyclable waste recovery, and improves the construction of a waste recycling system.
