MSWsorting Center Hosts Zero Waste Day 2024 Event in Collaboration with Zhengzhou Environmental Protection Association
Zhengzhou, China – To mark the 2024 International Zero Waste Day, the Zhengzhou Environmental Protection Association and the Zhengzhou Urban Management Bureau’s Waste Sorting Center jointly organized an interactive educational event titled “A Zero-Waste Experience at MSWsorting Center.” The event aimed to raise public awareness about waste sorting and promote sustainable practices.
Under the guidance of the MSWsorting Center’s representatives, participants toured various sections of the facility while learning about the importance of proper waste management. The tour provided hands-on experiences in different waste processing areas, including:
- Food Waste Processing: Insight into how organic waste is separated and processed.
- Bulky and Green Waste Co-Processing: A demonstration of how large garden waste and bulky items are handled and treated in an environmentally friendly manner.
- Waste Textile Recycling: Introduction to the methods used to recycle discarded textiles.
- Hazardous Waste Storage: A walkthrough of the temporary storage facilities for harmful waste, ensuring safe disposal methods.
The event also offered a unique “on-site experience” at the MSWsorting Center, where participants learned about modern recycling models. Visitors were able to practice the correct sorting and collection of recyclable materials, gaining a deeper understanding of waste reduction strategies.
Interactive Recycling and Sustainability Activities
