On April 24th, the reporter learned from the Zhengzhou Municipal Solid Waste Classification Work Promotion Leading Group Office that the first living waste sorting and co-processing base in Henan is about to land in Zhengzhou.
Planning and design information shows that the project will handle 100 tons of kitchen waste, 30 tons of garden waste and 10 tons of waste textile waste. The project is expected to start construction in May of this year, and it will be completed and commissioned by the end of August, and will be officially launched in September.

Qifu Shangdu Community is located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Zhengzhou Kaixuan Road and Wenxiu Road. Shi Shaohui, deputy general manager of Henan Baichuan Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., said that in October 2017, the district started to run a garbage classification project. The community adopts “Internet + smart waste sorting equipment” + “quadruple waste sorting equipment”, supporting a full-system data analysis and monitoring platform, supplemented by project site publicity and guidance, operation and maintenance, etc., and piloting an expansive garbage classification operation model. At present, Qifu Shangdu Community has invested a total of 4 sets of smart garbage sorting equipment and 22 sets of four sorting garbage sorting equipment. At present, the residents' awareness rate of household garbage classification residents reaches more than 90%, the registered residents' participation rate reaches more than 70%, and the classification accuracy rate reaches more than 80%.
Difficulties | Living garbage classified kitchen waste collection and processing into "old"
According to the relevant person in charge of the Zhengzhou Municipal Government, before the end of 2018, the municipality's classification rate of domestic garbage should reach more than 30%, and the utilization rate of domestic garbage should reach more than 10%. According to industry insiders, one of the difficulties in waste classification is the collection and disposal of kitchen waste.
According to the staff of the Central Plains Domestic Garbage Classification Leading Group, residents’ living garbage generated in residential areas mainly includes kitchen waste, paper, plastics, metals, and glass. According to the analysis of the characteristics of garbage in spring and summer in Zhengzhou City, the percentage of kitchen wastes is between 45% and 47%, resulting in a higher moisture content of the garbage. According to the "Standard for Urban Sanitation Facilities Planning (GB50337-2003)", the weight of domestic waste discharged is calculated based on the population of 760,000 permanent residents in the Central Plains area, producing 1,210 tons of household waste per day, of which about 540 tons of kitchen waste is generated daily.
“To effectively solve this problem, a small kitchen waste disposal station has been built in Central Plains to carry out dehydration and biochemical composting of kitchen waste, and a group of small new energy kitchen waste collection vehicles have been purchased.
