The recyclables are further subdivided into 7 categories, hazardous waste is subdivided into 9 categories, including cosmetics, thermometers, lamps, pesticides, medicines, batteries, ink cartridges, paints, etc. In addition to this largest sorting center, Hefei also has a sorting plant located in Feixi County.

The entire sorting center is divided into temporary storage area for hazardous waste, temporary storage area for large household appliances, large furniture disassembly area, scrap metal processing area, waste paper packaging area, waste plastic processing area, waste textile packaging area, and waste glass temporary storage area. The entire sorting center of the storage area is divided into the above eight areas.

The relevant person in charge of the Urban Management Bureau of Luyang District said that the sorting center covers an area of ​​more than 50 acres, and the actual use area exceeds 20,000 square meters. In the sorting center, the mixed recyclable garbage thrown by residents is subdivided into more than 30 types of recyclable garbage such as textiles, cardboard, and plastic bottles. After sorting and packing, the recyclable garbage will be transported to the renewable resource processing centers distributed throughout the province for professional recycling. After processing, these "resources" will be sold as renewable raw materials to downstream companies, so as to realize the upgrading of domestic waste from extensive to refined, achieve the goal of "reduction, resource utilization, and harmlessness", and make the waste "change". Waste is treasure".

The domestic waste sorting and sorting center can "digest" up to 300 tons per day. It is a multifunctional sorting and sorting center that integrates fine sorting and packaging of recyclable waste, disassembly and decomposition of bulky waste, and temporary storage of hazardous waste.

At present, more than 600,000 households in 210,000 households in Luyang District have achieved domestic waste classification, and the total amount of domestic waste classification is about 120 tons per day.
